Alright, well, life didn't work out too well in North Carolina. I think Ryan and I finally faced the harsh realization, that it is just too expensive down there. On March 1, 2008 we were on a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina - to Chicago, IL. My brother was there to pick us up from the airport and drive us to Michigan City, IN. We had an interview at Four Winds Casino & Resort of New Buffalo, MI.
Well, we got the job. On March 21, 2008 we started work there. We have since then been able to find an apartment of our own in a small town called, Buchanan, Michigan. Also have been able to pay off some debt, buy a 32" HDTV, and buy a laptop. Life has been swell ever since.
We currently work the midnight shift, 12am until 8 am. But thankfully tonight is our last night at that. Starting Monday we are 4pm - 12 am. And on Friday, Saturday, Sunday we are 6pm - 2am. We're off Tuesday's and Wednesdays if anyone ever wants to come visit.
Oh I should have mentioned, we are stewards there. No, not dishwashers. We're deep cleaners, as they call it. Every kitchen equipment gets cleaned by one of us each night. Deep fryers, ovens, flat tops, exhaust systems, etc. It's a dirty job, but I enjoy it. (And the pay and benefits are great too) We have 5 kitchens to clean each night, so its pretty exhausting.
Four Winds Casino is a new casino. It is only 9 months old. It's run by the Pokagon Band of Pottawatomie Indians. I can't gamble there, because you have to be 21. It's not a bad place. You should check it out sometime.
Well, that's all the updates I have for now. I hope everyone is well.
